Oval Track Racing

Racing chassis / modified chassis

Below is a summary of the different series of products which are applicable to racing chassis and modified chassis class oval racing. Click on the damper series for more detailed information on that type of damper.

30 Series

The 30 Series Road Course shock features a steel body, four-position rebound adjustable, and a high-pressure mono-tube design. The rebound forces can be adjusted 100%, while the compression forces are pre-set. This design offers a wide rage of valving options to fit a variety of applications at an economical price. The 30 series dampers are available with a variety of valvings to meet your specific damping requirements and can be utilized with a coil-over kit if necessary. Attachments are ½" ID bearing on both ends. The 30 Series can be run inverted to reduce unsprung weight.

30 SP8 Series

The 30 SP8 Road Course shock features a threaded aluminum body, four-position rebound adjustable, and a high-pressure mono-tube design. The rebound forces can be adjusted 100%, while the compression forces are pre-set. This rebuildable design offers a wide rage of valving options to fit a variety of applications at an economical price.
The 30 SP8 series dampers are available with a variety of valvings to meet your specific damping requirements. Due to the unique valving and damping characteristics available, we recommend that you discuss your needs with our technical staff prior to ordering.
The steel spring seat that are included with the 30 SP8 series will accept springs with 2 ¼" I.D. or a 2 ½" I.D. when used with a KONI adapter.

3011 Series

The 3011 series features a steel-bodied, external double-adjustable and a high pressure mono-tube design, ensuring optimum performance. Our patented mono-tube design allows for independent adjustments to the rebound and compression forces. All damping adjustments are made at the piston, eliminating the additional weight and packaging complications of an external reservoir. The 3011 series offers one of the broadest adjustment ranges in the industry, eliminating the need of constant revalving procedures from track to track. The 3011 series is often used in situations where the attachments of the vehicle cannot be converted to ½" eyes.

3012 Series

The 3012 series features a threaded aluminum-bodied, external double-adjustable and a high pressure mono-tube design, ensuring optimum performance. Our patented mono-tube design allows for independent adjustments to the rebound and compression forces. All damping adjustments are made at the piston, eliminating the additional weight and packaging complications of an external reservoir. The 3012 series offers one of the broadest adjustment ranges in the industry, eliminating the need of constant revalving procedures from track to track.

2812 MK II Series

The 2812 MK II Series are mono-tube dampers specifically designed for competion purposes, featuring externally adjustable compression and rebound. The precision adjustment mechanism allows for maximum control possible over the damping forces generated. In modern racing applications damper sensativity, repeatability, and ease of use are a must. To achieve this, the 28 series uses a superior and advanced adjustment mechanism operated by closing or opening valve-loaded ports. By having all damping forces generated at the piston, the control over the dampening forces is very precise.
Note: Not recommended for dirt applications

2812 LB Series

The 2812 LB (Long Body) Series are mono-tube dampers specifically designed for competion purposes, featuring externally adjustable compression and rebound. The 2812 LB utilizes a modular design allowing a much longer damper than our standard 2812, due to the modular design attachments can be easily modified to to meet the necessar requirements.
Note: Not recommended for dirt applications

2822 4-way Series

The 2822 Series are mono-tube 4-way adjustable dampers specifically designed for competion purposes, featuring externally adjustable 2 ways compression and 2 ways rebound. The precision adjustment mechanism allows for maximum control possible over the damping forces generated. In modern racing applications damper sensativity, repeatability, and ease of use are a must. To achieve this, the 2822 series uses a superior and advanced adjustment mechanism operated by closing or opening valve-loaded ports just like our 2812. With the addition of secondary adjustments on the body. Koni does all this without the additional weight or packaging issues of external reservoirs.
Note: Not recommended for dirt applications

2817 Series

The 2817 series is a semifinished strut damper. The strut housing and spring seats (for 2½" I.D. springs) are made of hard-anodized aluminum. A removable steel sleeve is fitted to the bottom part of the main cylinder of the strut housing to allow for fabrication of bracket to fit each particular application.
The 2817 series uses a "twin guide" installation. The primary guide is fitted to the top of the main cylinder. The secondary guide is fitted to the lowest point of the damper body itself and runs up and down inside the strut housing. Therefore, when the strut is compressed, the distance between the guides increases. This reduces friction and increases strength dramatically under load. Damping adjustments for rebound and compression are made at the bottom of the strut unit.
Note: Not recommended for dirt applications
